About
Biblical inAaroncy
Theology & Culture is a forum to discuss a vast array of topics, ranging from philosophy and theology to the arts and current events. Despite the broad span of topics discussed, they are all approached from a Christian theological perspective. Posts frequently include book excerpts, news commentary, art pieces, or theological thoughts.
About the Author
My name is Aaron Rathburn, and I am a senior studying philosophy at Calvin College (Grand Rapids, MI). Prior to philosophical studies, I also studied theology and biblical studies for 2 years at Trinity School of Theology (Wales, UK). I am married to my wonderful wife Amy, and father to my daughter and son. I work for Michigan State University as a transcriptionist (which is a fancy way of saying I’m a “scribe”
), and have previously ministered as a youth pastor for a handful of years. I am also a member of the Society of Biblical Literature.
My research interests include (but are not limited to): epistemology, hermeneutics, metaphysics, the doctrine of revelation, philosophical theology, Hebrew Bible, Genesis, Patristics, political theology, and more.
I also post my more organized theological writing at the collaborative blog, dust and light. You can follow me on Twitter under the handle inAaroncy, or visit my YouTube channel for some various videos.
